Black Enterprise names Durham the best city to retire to
October 08, 2008
In another kudo for the Bull City, "Black Enterprise" magazine has named Durham as the best city in the U.S. to retire to.
Our city bested runners-up Charlottesville, Ann Arbor, Nashville, and Lexington, Ky. in the rankings, perhaps in part due to its other nickname -- the City of Medicine. Health care played a key role in the ordering (accounting for one-fifth of cities' scores), as did climate, arts, culture, quality of life, leisure activities, traffic congestion, and airport access. No other North Carolina cities made the top 20.
(H/T to the N&O for catching this one.)
Almost positive this was mentioned a while back in the Herald-Sun.
