The new Hope Valley Commons shopping center got another tenant this past weekend, with chain fitness club L.A. Boxing opening its doors on Saturday at the center that's at the corner of NC 751 and NC 54 in southwest Durham.
Also on the way: A Walgreens drug store currently under construction on the site.
The Harris Teeter-helmed strip center near Garrett Rd., Hope Valley and Southpoint is also home to Durham's only Char-Grill, Wake Co.'s popular burger joint; the Bull City's second Dunkin' Donuts after a recent franchisee swap; and Rita's, featuring water ices and other cold treats.
A few pads are left in the center, according to a company spokesperson, and the developers are continuing to work on leasing up the center.
I am pretty sure this part of Durham does not need another drug store. There seems to be one if not two on every corner not to mention the various Targets and Wal-Marts in a 5 mile radius.
There has also been sign in the shopping center for a Smoothie King Coming Soon next to Jimmy Johns.
