- An additional $4.7m in cuts to the County budget hit the table yesterday as the state budget picture continues to evolve. Two school programs for at-risk youth in the poorest schools in the county; as many as 24 jobs may be impacted. O&Oed buildings being auctioned at a foreclosure sale in late June, and that the worst-case would be new owners (or presumably SBER) dragging them into bankruptcy, hurting local contractors and stalling completion of apartment upfit. - The Durham Chamber has cut four of fourteen positions and is reducing the number of events it sponsors due to waning participation from members in the tough economy.
