Thanks to a reader for pointing out the mural celebrating the life of Pauli Murray -- the Baltimore-born, Durham-raised woman who became a leading academic, feminist, champion of civil rights, and the first black woman ordained as an Episcopal priest in the U.S. -- now added to the side of TROSA's furniture and frame shop downtown:
It's hard to imagine a better candidate for recognition this way than the pioneering Murray. For those who aren't familiar with her life story, the Carrboro Citizen has a nice piece that ran earlier this year on Murray and some of her accomplishments and triumphs.

Folks should also check out the Murray mural on the east side of the Co-op building on West Chapel Hill Street.
