TROSA honors Pauli Murray with building mural

Thanks to a reader for pointing out the mural celebrating the life of Pauli Murray -- the Baltimore-born, Durham-raised woman who became a leading academic, feminist, champion of civil rights, and the first black woman ordained as an Episcopal priest in the U.S. -- now added to the side of TROSA's furniture and frame shop downtown:

P1000110

It's hard to imagine a better candidate for recognition this way than the pioneering Murray. For those who aren't familiar with her life story, the Carrboro Citizen has a nice piece that ran earlier this year on Murray and some of her accomplishments and triumphs.
