The Durham Flyer is reporting that Toast Paninoteca in downtown is estimated to open sometime this month. Kelli Cotter, the proprietor of the restaurant effort, attributed the delay into the new year as being caused by delays in getting all the necessary permits at hand for the effort.
From the streetscape, the restaurant's signage is now visible and the project seems to be coming together nicely in the location of the former Peoples' Clothier. More on the final opening date once we hear it. For now, visit their web site for more on their menu and plans.

That's great. They'll probably open up before Five Points Cafe! Whatever happened to that project anyway?

i'd been planning to do a pool on which of the following will open first:
Gatsby's
Five Points
Toast
Dos Perros
but maybe it's too late for that now.

Rode by tonight (Feb. 7) with Critical Mass, and it looked like the lights were on and the place was packed.
